Jarrett Street Cafe sits quietly on Jarrett Street in Leichhardt, offering a calm spot away from the busier parts of the neighborhood. It’s the kind of place locals drop into for a slow, relaxed breakfast or a mid-morning coffee break. The cafe draws a mix of early risers seeking a quality brew and those looking to settle in for some casual brunch without the usual café buzz.

The coffee here is a clear highlight, with many appreciating the attention to detail in their cups, especially the matcha, which has earned a reputation in the inner west for its distinctive, smooth flavour. Complementing the drinks, the food menu features approachable sides like sweet potato fries, halloumi, and avocado—simple but well-prepared dishes that pair nicely with the coffee or tea selection. The housemade muffins and daily cake options offer just enough sweetness to finish off a relaxed morning or light lunch.

The space itself is thoughtfully designed with a subtle, quirky charm that adds to the laid-back vibe. It’s not loud or crowded, which makes it ideal for anyone wanting a peaceful pause, whether working remotely with a laptop or catching up with a friend. Staff are noted for being welcoming and attentive without being intrusive, contributing to a comfortable atmosphere that encourages lingering.

Jarrett Street Cafe works well for locals who prize quality and a quiet setting over flashier, trend-driven spots. It’s most inviting on weekday mornings or weekends where you can avoid the lunch rush but still enjoy the fresh offerings. A few locals are regulars, often returning daily for their favourites, which suggests consistent quality and a genuine community feel.

This little gem is tucked away behind the busy streets of leichardt. The food selection is good and affordable. The quality is excellent and the coffee is really, really good too! My favourite part of this quirky gem is just how quiet and relaxing the environment is to have your morning brekky. As a big inner west cafe lover, this one is absolutely on my list of favs!

Tony and Sandy are excellent! They make great coffee and their food is delicious! We had a birthday party and had a gluten free basque cheesecake which was incredible! Their gluten free cookies are also really good. Our daughter loves their baby chinos. Relaxed vibe and good price, they’ve never let us down.
